Chris Kapenga is married to his wife Cari and they live in Delafield with their two daughters. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has successfully purchased and turned around two financially trouble companies, the most recent being a technology firm that was sold in the Spring of 2019. He has also owned several other small businesses as well as worked for Arthur Andersen and GE Medical Systems.
In 2010 Chris was elected to the State Assembly. In 2015 he was elected into the State Senate and represents the 33rd Senate district, which is comprised of the western half of Waukesha County. He serves as Chairman of the Committee on Public Benefits, Licensing and State-Federal Relations and as the vice-chair of the Committee on Government Operations, Technology and Consumer Protections. Other committee involvement includes Labor and Regulatory Reform and the Joint Legislative Audit Committee. He has also been a member of the CPA Caucus and Co-President of The Assembly of State Legislatures, a nation-wide state legislative organization that was focused on states’ rights and responsibilities under the U.S. Constitution.
